Green Lantern

I’ve always been a diehard Batman fan. I have indulged in some of the supporting character comics like Robin, Nightwing, Birds of Prey etc but I’ve never ventured far from that. However I enjoy superhero movies. Usually.

I know nothing of Green Lantern’s history, backstory, characters or anything like that, so I can’t  comment on the accuracy of the movie to the character’s history. This happens with other superhero movies for me, especially with any Marvel Comic movie. If it entertains me and I can be fully engaged, I’m all over it and sometimes pick up a trade or two so I can learn more about the character.

Green Lantern will get none of that support from me. I first stumbled into him in one of the DC New 52, and the dialogue between Green Lantern and Batman bored the ever living shit out of me. It was lame, cliched, and felt like forced banter to fill spaces. Sadly, the movie wasn’t far from that concept.

The acting was atrocious. The story was bland and dragged on. 30 minutes could have been totally eliminated from the beginning of the movie and the story still would have been easy to follow. I ended up so bored I shut it off with 30 or so minutes to go. It was a $1 totally wasted imho.

2/10 is my rating on Green Lantern

I can not thank you adequately for the posts on your web site. I know you’d put a lot of time and effort into them and hope you know how much I appreciate it. It’s becoming a good place to find new stuff.
